Dave Devencenzi
President

Dave is a third generation native San Franciscan. He attended Saint Ignatius College Prep and earned a degree in Biology from the University of San Francisco. Dave received his Pharmacy degree from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho and started working for Walgreens as a pharmacist in 1977. He became a Store Manager in 1980, District Manager of San Jose in 1992 and District Manager for San Francisco in 2004. He is now retired. Dave has been a SAFE Board Member since 2006.
Dave is married to his college sweetheart and has two beautiful daughters, Danielle and Michelle, and four fantastic grandchildren, Leo, Joey, Marco, and Alexandria. Dave enjoys woodworking, playing golf, and watching the Giants and Niners.

Andrea Jorgensen
Chief Financial Officer

Andrea Jorgensen is a Planner for the San Francisco Fire Department and the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management where she serves as the Disaster Corp Volunteer Coordinator and also works under the Program Coordinator for SFFD NERT (Neighborhood Emergency Response Team) to promote and maintain trainings for volunteers. She is the NERT neighborhood coordinator in her own area of Forest Hill Extension/Laguna Honda. Originally from Minnesota, Andrea has lived in California for approximately 30 years. Her background includes work in interior design, restaurant management /event planning and also in the non-profit world, primarily working with advocacy for the homeless. Prior to her current position she worked at SAFE and is passionate about SAFE’s contribution to community preparedness and safety awareness.

Melvin Cowan

Melvin Cowan is a Masters of Public Administration Candidate 2016 who has committed over 16 years as a community organizer and youth advocate. He has successfully developed young adults throughout the nation by providing them with professional development, financial literacy, psycho-social development, leadership training, and educational access. He is involved with, and a founding member of, a number of community inspired grassroots initiatives and organizations. He also coordinates public forums to address police accountability and civic engagement to foster safer communities for youth of color. He serves as an Assessor for the Oakland Police Department and provides Cultural Competency and Implicit Bias training to law enforcement. He also serves as a strategic partner with law enforcement leadership to assess organizational dynamics within the department and works with stakeholders to develop innovative programs and policies to promote diversity inclusion.

Anietie Ekanem

Anietie joined the Board in September 2016 is the CEO and Chief Guru of Social Niche Guru, Inc. He is highly active in the Bayview as a certified NERT volunteer, a member of ALERT, and supporting many community-based initiatives.

Tom Yeh

Tom Yeh joined the Board in September 2016. He was the CEO and Co-Founder of Siteler, Inc., the fastest growing social venture in a $35 Billion dollar industry. Yeh is a 5 time serial entrepreneur and investor and has served in various executive capacities for many early stage companies in both US and Asia. In addition, Yeh was a founding member of an EB-5 Immigration Venture/Private Equity Fund, focusing on socially responsible businesses that also creates jobs. Yeh’s previous successful businesses encompasses renewable energy, technology, specialty trading, environmental, product development, real estate, technology, education, criminal justice and investment. Yeh attended University of California, Berkeley majoring in Biochemistry.

In addition to serving on the board of various private companies, he is also on the Board of Trustees at Palo Alto University, Northern California Service League, Center on Juvenile & Criminal Justice, and is the current Chairman of International Mensa Investment Club. He was also the President of Northern Paradise Chapter of WMA (Western Manufactured Housing Communities Association), Golden State Coin Laundry Association.
