at National Night Out
Tonight’s the night (Tues., Aug. 3)! The ten San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) stations invite you to their respective National Night Out events throughout the city. Aside from food, entertainment and fun activities, it’s a chance to build police-community connections that help create a safer San Francisco for us all.
During a press conference Mon., July 12, SFPD Chief William Scott and Mayor London Breed presented the latest CompStat report through the first half of 2021 and also underscored public safety priorities in San Francisco.
REPORT: SFPD Resolve 99.9 Percent of Crisis-Related Calls Peacefully
The San Francisco Police Crisis Intervention Team 2020 Police Commission Report reveals that of the almost 50K annual crisis-related calls, the SFPD used force only 51 times—a use-of-force rate of 00.1 percent, per a Force Science Institute Force Science News report.
As San Franciscans return to city living after a long pandemic pause, one of the first SFPD community events to reemerge is Coffee with a Cop. Hosted by the SFPD stations in their local districts, the events help police and local residents build community “one cup at a time.”
