SFPD, SF SAFE Welcome Community to National Night Out Tonight

Tonight is National Night Out (Tues., Aug. 2), a time when SF SAFE and the ten San Francisco Police Department stations (SFPD) host celebrations in their neighborhoods throughout the city.

Celebrated nationwide, National Night Out aims to bring residents together with first responders to enjoy food, entertainment and fun activities, while also strengthening police-community connections and creating a safer San Francisco along the way.

Here’s the scoop on SFPD station activities happening tonight for National Night Out; note that some stations host two events at different locations. Not sure which SFPD station is yours? Click here for the SFPD Station Finder.

Bayview Station: Join the station at two locations, Bayview Opera House, 4705 3rd Street in SF from 5-7 p.m. and also at the Joseph Lee Rec Center, 1598

Oakdale Avenue in SF from 5-7 p.m. Featuring a Community Talent Show, Kids Zone, free food, Resource Fair and more.

Central Station: The station’s National Night Out festivities will be at the Salesian Boys & Girls Club, 680 Filbert Street in SF from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Activities will

include live entertainment, free snacks/treats, games, prizes, fire trucks, mounted police units and other fun.

Ingleside Station: Come out and join SFPD Ingleside Station for National Night Out activities at Herz Playground, 1701 Visitacion Ave. in SF from 5-7 p.m.

Mission Station: The station welcomes community members “meet your neighbors, fight crime and have fun” at its National Night Out celebration at Mission Playground, Valencia Street/Cunningham Place in SF from 5-7 p.m.

Northern Station: The station encourages community members to “bring the family out” to Ella Hill Hutch Community Center, 1050 McAllister Street in SF from 4-6 p.m.

Park Station: Join the station for its National Night Out celebration at Harvey Milk Center, 50 Scott Street in SF (in Duboce Park) from 5-7 p.m. Featuring a SF School of the Arts dance performance, SFPD Marine Unit, SFFD station 6, safety resources and a chance to meet new station Captain Jack Hart.

Richmond Station: Come on out for the station’s National Night Out event at Muriel Leff Mini Park at 420 7th Avenue in SF from 4-7 p.m.

Southern Station: National Night Out with the Station will be double the fun this year at two locations: The Crossing at East Cut, 200 Folsom St. in SF (Between Howard, Main, Folsom & Beale Streets) from 5-7 p.m. and including games, music, pizza and prizes; and also on Treasure Island at Gateview Road &

Gateview Court from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with hot dogs, balloon making, face painting, backpack giveaway and more.

Taraval Station: The station welcomes the community to come out to the Minnie & Lovie Ward Recreation Center, 650 Capitol Avenue in SF from 5-7 p.m. for music, food and info resources and more.

Tenderloin Station: The station welcomes community members to come out to Boeddeker Park, 295 Eddy Street in SF from 5-8 p.m.

And don’t forget to save the date for Chinatown Night Out, Wed., Sep 7 at Portsmouth Square, 745 Kearny Street between Clay Street & Washington St. in SF.
