SF SAFE Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at New Office

SF SAFE celebrated a new chapter in its four decade history Sat., June 12 with a ribbon cutting at its NEW OFFICE at 2601 Mission St., Suite 300, in San Francisco. The new space, located in the heart of the vibrant Mission, features an industrial chic, open-flow office floor plan complemented by a long outdoor patio space overlooking the bustling neighborhood below.

On hand that afternoon to help SF SAFE mark the occasion were numerous members of SFPD leadership, San Francisco stakeholders, SF SAFE board members and other supporters who turned out for a mouthwatering soul food lunch and cupcakes on the patio catered by The RedDoor.

SF SAFE Executive Director Kyra Worthy sent out her appreciation to those who joined the organization for the momentous occasion. “On behalf of the SF SAFE team, I want to thank everyone who came out to help us celebrate our ribbon cutting at our new office. We look forward to continuing our work here—with your help—forging police-community connections and other partnerships that help create a safer San Francisco for us all.”

Worthy gave special recognition to attendees that day, including: San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Shamann Walton; Supervisor Hillary Ronen, Supervisor Connie Chan; James Caldwell; Assessor-Recorder Joaquín Torres; SFPD Chief William Scott, Assistant Chief Michael Redmond; Assistant Chief Robert Moser; Police Commissioner Larry Yee; CCDC Executive Director and SFO Commissioner Malcolm Yeung; and Mr. Chow of the Chinese Chamber.

She also gave special thanks, as well, to SF SAFE's dedicated staff and board members, the SFPD command staff who attended the event, as well as many more supporters who were there.

Complimenting Worthy’s “transformation” of SF SAFE since she came aboard as executive director three years ago, Chief Scott said, “I can’t tell you how valuable you, your staff and your team have been to us and the city.” Joking that he was “jealous” of SF SAFE’s new office, the chief added that “it really takes all of us to do what we do to keep our city safe [and] to do it in collaboration and partnership."

Later, the chief added, "I'm really thrilled and happy to be partnering with you all...keep moving things forward. We got a lot of work to do, but if anybody can do it, San Francisco people can. And to Kyra and the [SF SAFE] board, thank you for everything and thanks for having us."

While SF SAFE's address may have changed, its safety-centric services have remained the same. Check out the organization's array of programs and services here. To contact SF SAFE, email [email protected] or call the new office number at 415-416-6435.
