Child Safety Event

Save the date for Old Navy’s Child Safety Event Sat., Sept. 25 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at its flagship store at 801 Market St., SF. There will be child safety info and tips and SF SAFE will be giving away 500 backpacks! 
Preparedness Month

Stop at the Limit Line

A reminder, especially as in-person school is in session, to stop at the limit line when approaching an intersection or crosswalk. Stopping beyond it increases the likelihood of you hitting a pedestrian, cyclist or other motorist.

SFPD & Community Sit Down for Citywide Public Safety Zoom

SFPD Chief William Scott, SFPD Command staff and SF SAFE came together to host a Virtual Citywide Public Safety Meeting Sept. 2 on Zoom. Get the 411 on the meeting, which gave the SFPD and community members the chance to discuss key topics surrounding safety in San Francisco.
Chinatown Night Out Returns
after Pandemic Pause

Chinatown Night Out returned to Portsmouth Square Sept. 6 after a one-year pandemic pause, with about 1,000 community members joining SF SAFE, the SFPD and numerous event sponsors for the 7th annual event. The evening aimed to build police-community connections toward a safer San Francisco.

During the SFPD’s recent Citywide Public Safety Meeting, SFPD Ingleside Station Captain Nicole Jones shared her insights on community engagement from a captain’s perspective. Her insights underscored community engagement’s pivotal role in the department’s overall community policing strategy in San Francisco.


Sup. Walton Seeks Funding for Vis Valley Public Safety Measures

District 10 Sup. Shamann Walton, also board president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, introduced legislation recently to secure $250,000 to the Office of Economic Workforce Development to implement cameras and other public safety measures in Visitacion Valley as part of the D10 Public Safety Plan.
